1. Service and operator
Mailshu is a shu.is Chrome extension that shows users receipt status for email sent from Gmail.
2. Google sign-in and data processed
The device stores the Google Account email, email subjects, recipient addresses, language and tracking settings, and consent choice. The server stores the stable Google Account identifier used to separate accounts, tracking IDs, sent time, image-load time, read status, confidence, and count. Support requests include the email and text entered by the user. Google sign-in keeps user records separate; recipients receive no approval request or notification.
3. Data not stored
Mailshu does not store email bodies, attachments, raw IP addresses, location, full browser user-agent strings, Google passwords, or access tokens. Tokens and request headers are processed only while authenticating and classifying automated security checks.
4. Purpose and legal basis
Data is used only to register and display receipts, filter automated security checks, resolve incidents, and handle support or deletion requests. Tracking activates only after the installing user gives explicit consent.
5. Retention and deletion
Tracking records are retained for up to 90 days and support requests for up to 180 days, then removed automatically. Users may request earlier deletion on the support page and can remove browser data by clearing or uninstalling the extension.
6. Sharing, sale, and advertising
We do not sell data or use it for targeted advertising, credit scoring, or data brokerage. Data is shared only with hosting and storage providers needed to operate the service, or where legally required.
7. Google API and security
Google provides authentication. Mailshu requests only the signed-in account’s stable identifier and email. External traffic uses HTTPS, Google API data follows Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements, and the extension includes no remotely hosted code.
8. User choices
Users can turn off tracking by default or for each message. Withdrawing consent stops new tracking. Access, deletion, and privacy requests are available on the support page.
9. Changes and contact
